I launched the teaser site for Arcaen.com today. Once the final look of the site has been decided, more content will be added.

Red Channel Games is wrapping up their Beta testing on the “Arcaen” Role-Playing Game.  I have started illustrating the pool of images they will draw upon for the interior art. Here is an example:

I attended a new play test for the role-playing game Arcaen last night. It has a robust tactical system. You may have noticed a lot of new sketches from the game in my sketchbook.

Arcaen can be summed up in four words, “Iron Age Survival Horror”. No Elves, Dwarves, or other Tolkein cliches here.

I talked to game designers Jim Meeker and Mike Robinson about the art design. I can’t wait to develop the look of the game, especially since I personally think horror has been misrepresented in game art. Rest assured, I don’t consider pigtailed, teeny-bopper vampires in striped stockings to be scary.

The easel is back up!

You’ll notice a new look to the site and new features starting today!

Updates will also be more frequent: Monday and Wednesday.

Expect to see new images, and more in depth material about the images.

What can you look forward to? I’ll soon add a Web Design section, as well as a Sketchbook gallery full of images that have never been published. But, you should also expect to see plenty of digital, painted, and inked artwork that has never been on the site before.

New images have already been added to all sections, so enjoy and come back often!
